Albanian Pan-Fried Meatballs (Qofte të Fërguara)
These flavorful pan-fried meatballs, seasoned with herbs and spices, offer a taste of traditional Albanian comfort food, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients
- Ground beef 250 g
- Onion 0.5 medium
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Breadcrumbs 0.25 cup
- Egg 1 large
- Fresh parsley 2 tbsp
- Paprika 0.5 tsp
- Cumin 0.25 tsp
- Salt 0.5 tsp
- Black pepper 0.25 tsp
- Olive oil 2 tbsp
How to Cook
- Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic. Chop the fresh parsley.
- In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped parsley, paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well with your hands until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into 8-10 equal portions and roll them into small, compact meatballs.
- Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place the meatballs in the hot skillet, ensuring not to overcrowd. Cook in batches if necessary. Brown on all sides, turning occasionally, until cooked through and golden brown.
- Remove cooked meatballs from the skillet and serve hot, perhaps with a side of fresh salad or rice.
